Foundation of Nonviolent Communication
Date: Sunday 18 Oct | 10am - 5pm
Led by: Jill Broadbent (aka Vajraghanta)
Cost: £85 [concession £70]
Join this day to discover the foundations of a life-changing practice known as Nonviolent Communication (NVC) or build on your existing practice.
NVC is rooted in an intention to communicate from a compassionate place rather than defensive or attacking places. On this day, we will use real examples from your own life to explore what underlies the words and actions of others, and how to connect with and express what matters to us in ways that can be heard. We always have choice in what we say and do and NVC is about learning the nature of that choice and exercising it.
Skills we will specifically cover include:
Understanding ourselves and what we really want with compassion
Reducing our habitual reactivity
Cultivating the capacity to listen and understand what others are seeking to say, even if it is expressed in a challenging way
Learning how to stand our ground and sustain a compassionate presence
Speaking honestly in ways that are more likely to be heard.
