Introduction to Therapeutic Groupwork

This Groupwork Training provides an introduction to groupwork theory and practice, for therapists interested in working with groups and those already doing so. The focus is on participants developing skills in facilitating groups and using the resources of the group to support therapeutic change. The skills and theory addressed within the course will be applicable within a range of settings, from support groups to therapeutic workshops and on-going therapeutic groups. 

The course will include:
·      An introduction to a planning cycle for running groups and workshops.

·      Input on therapeutic groupwork skills, exercises and facilitator styles

·      Opportunities for group work skills development and coaching of facilitation in ‘live’ groups.

23/24 January 2027. This course runs 10.30 am - 5.30 pm on both days.

Intro Course Cancellation Policy: More than two calendar months notice - full refund.  Between two and one calendar months notice - 50% refund. One calendar month or less - no refund.

If you choose the ticket 23/24 Jan Intro Course PLUS Building Blocks 2027 ticket the following terms apply to the Building Blocks section of your fee.

Building Blocks 2027 Terms & Conditions: Your deposit is non-returnable.  When you pay your deposit you are committing to the course and the following terms and conditions.  Unless we have agreed a different payment plan, 1/3 of the balance (Earlybird £325, Full fee: £392) is payable by 1^st October 2026, a further 1/3 by 1^st December and the final instalment by 15th January 2027. You are also welcome to pay before these dates if it suits you.

After the 1st December 2026, the full balance for the course is payable whether or not you complete the course.  There is no refund or discount available in the case of missing a weekend through ill-health, transport issues or other reasons. If you cancel your place before 31st October 2026, any balance you have paid, over and above your deposit (which is non-refundable), will be returned.  If you cancel your place after 31st October 2026, there are no further refunds available.
