We are a group of North London Jewish Women, horrified by the current war against the Gazan population. We are keen to make it more widely known that there are many Jewish people who feel as we do, as this gets so little media attention. Under our banner of North London Peaceniks we are organising a benefit event for Gaza on Wed May 22 6.30-7.30pm, at our local small arts cinema Arthouse Crouch End, to raise money for Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP). We will be showing Farah Nabulsi’s Oscar-nominated short film The Present followed by some poems by Jewish and Palestinian writers and performers, after which we invite everyone to meet in the bar to share thoughts about the film, the situation and how we can help. The evening will be hosted by Professor Lynne Segal, academic, writer and long-time activist. Suggested donation per ticket £30, or pay what you can afford.
