Japanese Painting Workshop with Ula Fung

During this Japanese painting workshop, we'll be using traditional materials including bamboo brushes, sumi ink, Gansai Tambi 顔彩耽美, gold leaf and rice paper, 

This workshop will be led by local artist and experienced painting teacher Ula Fung, beginning with a painting demonstration and after which you will create your own painting overseen by Ula.

Japanese culture places great importance on the seasons, so our workshops follow seasonal themes. We’ll provide a wide range of references from classic and contemporary Japanese artists.

Suitable for Beginners:
No previous experience is needed. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some painting experience, Ula will guide you throughout the session and answer any questions throughout the session.

You’ll take home your painting and a new skill you can continue to practice with. 

All painting equipment and materials are provided including Sumi ink, Gansai TambiGold leaf and rice paper boards.

What to Bring:

Protective aprons are provided but please wear comfortable clothes you don't mind getting a little paint on.
A bag to carry your artwork home.

Age: 16+ only but please contact us if you would like to bring somebody under 16 in the company of an adult.

Towards the end of the workshop, there will be an opportunity to have your photo taken. Photos may be used for social media and promotional purposes. Please let us know if you’d prefer not to be photographed.
