Create your own Shadow Theatre - Family Workshop

Spend your morning mastering the ancient art of light and dark. 

Join our Shadow Theatre Workshop, where families work together to build their very own tabletop stages! 

We’ve got a spectacular stash of materials: midnight-black card, translucent colorful films for "stained glass" effects, articulated joints, and bright spotlights. 

Design your own cast of characters—from soaring dragons to mysterious heroes—and learn how to make them grow, shrink, and dance against the screen.

Further Information 

Children must be accompanied by a paying adult. Carer discounts are available for those who need additional support.

These workshops are for ages 4+ due to the difficulty level. There is no suggested upper age limit, as this activity is designed for grown-ups to enjoy as well. Unfortunately, we cannot allow younger children or prams into the workshop room, as space is limited.

Please be aware that you may be sharing your table with another family.

Additional Access

These workshops will take place in the Octagon Studio, which is level access and suitable for wheelchair users. There is a narrow medieval doorway between the Octagon and the bar, so wheelchair users will have to take a slightly longer route for this journey.
