No Shoes Allowed: Resonance
No Shoes Allowed: Resonance

No Shoes Allowed is a multi-media pop-up show created to provide a platform for South Asian artists to share their work, stories, and perspectives. In alignment with this year’s theme of “resonance”, Volume II is an amplified extension of last year’s show with 3 full days of artwork and live music performances along with an even larger set of artists!
“Resonance is a phenomenon that happens when an external force or vibration matches an object's natural frequency, causing the object to vibrate with a much larger amplitude.”
For us, resonance is not just a scientific term but also a cultural concept. As South Asian Americans navigating life here in America, resonance describes how our heritage (the music, colors, languages, food, and feelings) vibrate and even amplify in our surroundings. Resonance teaches us to honor the ripples within ourselves and others, to allow ourselves to be changed and to change. Resonance asks us, what does it mean to be truly in tune with ourselves and others?
