Strategic Management of Incidents Course

The Local Resilience Forum (LRF) are hosting a FREE course for Strategic Managers who will be nominated to attend a Strategic Co-ordinating Group (SCG).

In the event of a large-scale emergency, major or critical incident, a multi-agency SCG may be convened to provide overall co-ordination for a strategic response to the incident. 

The aim of the course is to explore the role and responsibilities of the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire SCG using emergency situations recently experienced and currently anticipated in the UK.

This full day training course will be delivered by a multi-agency team of trainers drawn from local responding organisations and includes presentations and multi-agency syndicate work based on emergency scenarios. 

The aim of the course is to:

• Identify the strategic implications of a range of possible incidents and the role and aims of the SCG in each scenario
• Discuss the integration of the SCG in widespread incidents where local or national management structures are in operation 
• Discuss methods of ensuring the SCG operates effectively including lessons learned from previous incidents

The event is being held at Joint Police and Fire Headquarters, in Rufford conference rooms 1 and 2. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
