Overview:
This half day training course will raise awareness of the recovery processes, the importance of understanding the impact on the community following a major emergency, and the management structures as outlined in the LRF Recovery Plan, - specifically the Recovery Coordinating Group (RCG) and its sub-groups. The session will be a combination of presentations delivered by trainers drawn from local responding organisations, and group discussions considering recovery scenarios.
Learning objectives:
- Understand the differences between response, recovery, and regeneration.
- Become familiar with the recovery structures, in particular the role of the Recovery Coordinating Group and it's sub-groups, and understand where they fit into the wider incident management structure
- Understand how to assess the impact of an incident on a community, and be able to formulate and implement a Recovery Strategy
- Become aware of where the responsibility for recovery lies and how it is funded
Who should attend?
Senior managers who may be asked to chair or represent their organisation at a Recovery Coordinating Group, or one of its designated sub-groups.
