Tarot and Creative Writing Salon

Wed 22 Apr 2026 6:15 PM - 8:15 PM Nourished Communities, 263 Upper Street, N1 2UQ

Tarot is a card game, storytelling tool, and form of divination that has enchanted people all over the world, from all walks of life, for centuries. Though often viewed as a solitary practice, it is truly eye-opening when practiced in community, when different perspectives on the cards enrich your understanding – that's when the 'magic' happens. When combined with creative writing, it's an excellent way to unblock creativity, build confidence, and combat phone-induced brain rot, while sharpening your tarot-reading skills. No experience of tarot or creative writing needed. This is the second iteration of this salon, as the first one sold out.

Details

📅 Wednesday, April 22nd | 6:15-8:15pm
📍 Nourished Communities, 263 Upper St, London N1 2UQ
🎫 Price: £30 (includes wine / beer, empanadas, and homemade baked goods)

What We'll Do

In this two-hour salon, we will gather in an intimate group to learn the building blocks of tarot (Major Arcana and the four suites), and use that knowledge – as well as individual cards' symbolism – to write short scenes, which you will be encouraged to read aloud. There will be three blocks of quiet writing time; you can use them for the same project or write three different scenes, it's up to you. Fiction, non-fiction, poetry, plays, comedy skits, dinner party anecdotes – all forms of writing are welcome. The focus here is play and improvisation – not evaluations or feedback. It's a great way to learn more about tarot, build your storytelling skills, and connect meaningfully with a group of strangers.
