Fiver returns with Cleaning House, their first full length record since 2021’s Fiver with the Atlantic School of Spontaneous Composition. The musical collection sprawls over verse written between 2012 to 2025 and is best filed under Country Prog. Singer and songwriter Simone Schmidt compels a repeat and conscious listen, offering up folk songs, shrines to friends, evergreen cultural commentary, by way of a lyricism that is equal parts enthralled and appalled. Their current collaborators Jeremy Costello (bass, synths, voice), Nathan Doucet (drums, percussion, voice), and Dani Crowther (pedal steel, guitar) comprise The Fiver Trois. Together they arrange the songs with skilled sensitivity and palpable affection, at times walking off the edge into protracted improvisation. Cleaning House was produced by Schmidt, engineered and mixed by Gavin Gardiner, and comes out on You’ve Changed Records on July 10, 2026.

Koromanti and the North Star is a band named after the first recorded instance of Afro-diasporic music. The name speaks to the band's desire to dig up and revive the African roots of folk music and reflects the sonic ways the band shows how that music arrived in Mi'kma'ki. Featuring old time strings and West African percussion Koromanti and the North Star lifts up forgotten African roots, blues, gospel and folk songs from across the diaspora and blends them with ancestral sounds.
