Ouseburn Tunnel

Explore life in a Victorian waggonway, discover how the Victoria Tunnel was built, and hear the sounds of coal wagons heading to the Tyne. Experience the tunnel’s role as a World War Two air-raid shelter through authentic sounds and personal stories. Along the way, walk beneath some of Newcastle’s most iconic landmarks, including Hadrian’s Roman Wall.
The tour will start at 11.45am so please aim to arrive 10 minutes before for the health and safety briefing. The meeting point is at our headquarters, 51 Lime Street, NE1 2PQ.
