We’re beyond excited to announce the opening of our brand-new location at the Centrale Markthal! To celebrate this milestone, we’re embracing Nya as the guiding narrative of the day; a celebration of flavor, music, art, and culture. Get ready for an unforgettable experience; we can't wait to share it all with you!

NYA 
Our journey began in Algeria as an ode to nomadic cuisine, and has now grown into a celebration of North African culture through Nya. Nya نية (n.) means "the intention in one’s heart." We invite you to feast on couscous and mint tea, find traditional treasures in our souq, and explore our culture and history through music, talks, and workshops. With our opening we bring the spirit of North Africa to life in the heart of Amsterdam.

RAINARAI x BRET
For the opening of Rainarai's brand-new location, BRET is travelling to our new home, bringing their bold spirit, wild energy, and legendary Gulpener brew. Together we will transform this quiet corner of Amsterdam into a vibrant oasis of sound, flavour, and celebration.

At Rainarai, we want you to feel North Africa in every sip and bite – it deepens the experience of what you taste. Everything we offer – from food to experience – is crafted to enrich your culinary journey through the flavors of North Africa.

FOOD WITH PASSION
At our table, you're family — just as you would be in North Africa. Enjoy couscous, tajines, pizza's, and mint tea under the cover of our traditional tent, while sitting on rugs surrounded by cushions and North African tunes.

SOUQ
Between bites, visit our souq to discover handmade treasures, traditional items, books, spices, desserts, and more. Explore our booths to learn about charitable causes.

ART
While enjoying your drink, stroll past photo exhibitions that reflect the identity, history, traditions, and political complexities of North Africa.

To fully immerse yourself in the culture behind the dishes, join Chef Laurent’s cooking experience and uncover the stories and techniques behind Rainarai’s signature flavors. To dive deeper into the richness of North Africa, we invite you to drop by for some experiences showcasing its vibrant crafts and traditions:

• Traditional Dressmaking experience with Sarmoire — Thursday & Friday, 15:00–17:00 & 18:00–20:00

• El Oula and Harrissa with Wael el Allouche — Saturday, 15:00–17:00

• Traditional Clothing & Accessories experience with Taqalid Bladi — Thursday at 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, & 17:00

And to truly highlight where our roots come from, enjoy two nightly film screenings – a journey into the heart of North Africa:
