Let's get ready to celebrate right before THANKSGIVING in our last weekender of the year during this coming pre-thanksgiving celebration!

NYC ZOUK sponsored by ZENZOUK is proud to announce that we will be hosting Yasmin and Saulo from Brazil. They are known for the unique Brazilian Zouk style while incorporating contemporary movement as well as contact improv while respecting the traditions of Brazilian Zouk and Lambada.

This is their first time in the United States with limited availability within the US and they will only be here in NYC on the east coast. Both artists have exceptional talent in combining their skills and talent and we are in for a real treat especially their technique on footwork variations such as the "crossback" and their shelving technique such as using various points of contact for variations in headmovement. They have taught all over the world and we can't wait to have them.

ABOUT SAULO

Saulo is an international artist , graduated in Physical Education (UECE) graduated in Dance (Porto Iracema das Artes) is teacher , dancer , choreographer , and director . He has been working ballroom dance _forover 12 years , studying and researching types of dance in couple with focus on Brazilian Zouk , Lambada and West coast swing. He also works with contemporary dance, bringing contact and improvisation and movement lab as main focus of study. He has participated in companies with classical ballet, tap dance, jazz, circus , popular dances, African dances and theater. He has taught classes in 8 countries and many congresses in Brazil with Brazilian zouk workshops, body techniques and all these other experiences Creator of the Zouk Anatomy course with the study of biomechanics in zouk , creator and organizer of the Dia do Zouk, a c ongress that happens in Fortaleza, creator of the Felt Dance Workshop with psychotherapist Rafaella Medeiros. Today , in partnership with Yasmim Rodrigues, he teaches classes in Brazil and around the world.

Yasmim is an international artist , started dancing zouk 10 years ago and since then has never stopped dancing, in 2019 she joined Lambada, when she had the opportunity to study the rhythm

deeper, becoming one of her favorites . In her journey, she has already had experience with international dances like West Coast Swing, FoxTrot , Rumba and others . Yasmim also has knowledge about other Brazilian dances like a Samba de Gafieira, Forró and Bolero, as well as experience in ballet, jazz, contemporary dance and contact and improvisation.

ABOUT YASMIN AND SAULO

Saulo and Yasmim have been Brazilian Zouk dancers and teachers for over 10 years. Together they developed a new and different work in the community with Brazilian Zouk, applying years of experience with dance in couples, zouk and the background of solo dances such as ballet, contemporary dance, jazz, contact and improvisation, and body studies at the University course developing a more complete work and conscious with Zouk.

They developed a unique way of dancing and transmitting the magic of dance, its points of attention and contact improvisation in the basic structures, technique and body awareness of many years of study building a conscious dance with infinite possibilities!
