Please note if you have taken the previous cycle, topics for this NEW 6 WEEK CYCLE will be different to maximize your learning.

BRAZILIAN ZOUK LEVEL 2 : 7-8pm
This progressive course is designed for students with some Zouk experience (3+ months of regular courses) or substantial experience in other dance styles (2+ years). We will review basic movements with a focus on the techniques that make the dance feel comfortable and fluid, unlocking higher level concepts and patterns.

BRAZILIAN ZOUK LEVEL 3: 8-9pm
This course will utilize the techniques from Level 2 to survey higher level movements, including stylistic variations and head movement. Registration is only open to those co-registered for Level 2 or by instructor permission (contact Alex Breitweiser).

For beginner to intermediate Zouk dancers who want to build on their basics and enjoy social dancing with confidence. If you’ve learned the fundamentals and want to keep progressing to the next level – with more moves and a deeper understanding of Zouk technique – this series is for you!

This series is designed for those who have completed 2 months or more of Level 1 Zouk classes. You should be familiar with fundamental Zouk moves including lateral, viradinha, and soltinho.

Looking for Level 1?

If you are beginning your Zouk journeys or want a refresher course on the fundamentals, please reach out to us and we can refer you to beginner classes with other instructors in NYC.

ABOUT ALEX B

Alex began dancing Zouk in 2019 and has trained internationally with world renowned instructors in Brazil, the US, and Europe. He began organizing and teaching at Zouk events during the pandemic in Philadelphia, and recently moved to New York where he is excited to help grow the local Zouk scene.

ABOUT JESSICA LAMDON

Jessica Lamdon, also known as "Unicorn", (the nickname she was crowned by her mentor and partner Ry'el) instructor, performer, actor, loves to MC, professional hugger, has been dancing since she was 8 years old.

She began with competitive international 10-dance ballroom dancing and was fortunate enough to compete and place in international competitions such as Black Pool and represent the US in the Worlds Competition in 2007.

Jessica flirted with other Latin dances and styles. She then totally emerged into acting for stage and film throughout high school and college, while earning her BA in Psychology.

Along the way, the Unicorn got bit by the Brazilian Zouk bug in 2012 and never recovered.

She has had the honor of training with her mentor, partner, and founder of ZenZouk Ry'el Velandia and getting certified by Kim Rottier. She has had the pleasure of traveling to teach and perform in congresses throughout the states and Europe. Jessica also had the privilege of partaking in a workshop and performance of hit show Braz Dos Santos's Brazouka.

Jessica is so proud to be representing ZenZouk and grateful to have Brazilian Zouk Lambada be in her life and the lives of others.

She is so humbled and excited to share her discoveries in movement.

She began focusing on Zouk in 2021 while living in Melbourne, Australia, and since moving to NYC 1.5 years ago, she’s enjoyed helping the community to grow!

ABOUT KYELEE FITTS

Kyelee found Zouk in 2022 in Vinny de Souza and Saeko Hinomoto’s level 1 Piel Canela class! Like for many others, it was love at first sight. Since then, she’s traveled extensively and trained with teachers domestic and abroad in both Zouk and Lambada. She’s super excited to learn, grow, and share her passion and energy with the NYC Zouk community.
