The Fleur Stevenson Quartet
Sun 19 Sep 2021 3:00 PM - 6:30 PM BST
Oaken Grove Vineyard, RG9 6JG
Description
Join us at Oaken Grove Vineyard for an afternoon of Jazz, accompanied by delicious local wines, beers and food.
Fleur Stevenson is fast establishing herself at the forefront of an exciting new breed of jazz vocalists taking London by storm. Gifted with a honeyed tone, an offbeat sense of humour and a naturally charismatic stage presence, Fleur creates an instant rapport with her audience through sparkling narrative and an unerring instinct for choosing the right material to showcase her talent.
Her phrasing, use of space and improvisational ability nod to obvious influences from the greats such as Shirley Horn and Anita O’Day but Fleur is carving a niche all of her own with her surprising yet stylish interpretations of jazz standards and her tender, heartfelt delivery of romantic ballads.
Fleur will be joined by Hugh Turner on guitar, Simon Price on drums and Andy Crowdy on bass.
Vineyard gates open at 2pm and guests are welcome to enjoy drinks on the wine terrace before the jazz starting at around 3pm.
Tables for 6, 4, 3 and 2 people are available. Wines from our own vineyard as well as some other local beers and guest wines will be available to order. Grazing platters consisting of a delicious selection local artisan cheeses and charcuterie, fruits, nuts and pickles are available to order in advance. Table of 6 will receive a complimentary bottle of wine.
