Oaken Grove Vineyard is pleased to be able to take you to New Orleans for the afternoon.

Thomas L’Etienne went to New Orleans for a break from his doctoral studies in Hamburg and never returned. Instead, the already accomplished clarinettist and saxophonist played with legends of New Orleans’ jazz such as Kid Thomas, Emanuel Sayles, Chester Zardis and James Brooker. He met and married the New Orleans Jazz Ambassador Lillian Boutte, touring the world with her until she became too ill to work. Denny and Andy joined Lillian’s band in the early 2000s and the three became firm friends, performing at major jazz festivals in Europe, North America, and Australia. Listen to them play the best of New Orleans Jazz while you relax on the wine terrace.

Vineyard gates open at 12.00pm midday, and guests are welcome to enjoy drinks on the wine terrace during the afternoon. Food will be served between 1 - 2.00pm before the music starts at around 3.00pm.

Tickets to attend the vineyard to listen to the jazz are costed at £20.00 per person.

Tables for up to 6 people are available. Each table of 6 booked in advance will receive a complimentary bottle of wine. Wines from our own vineyard as well as guest wines, local beers and soft drinks will be served at our bar.

NEW ORLEANS MENU

Also available to pre-order is food served by the Little Urban Chef. Prepared in their characteristic big pan, open-air style, the meal is chosen to accompany the New Orleans vibe of the afternoon. Choose from our meat or vegetarian options.

Chicken, smoked sausage, prawns and peppers with rice, garlic and Cajun spices.

Mac and Cheese (v)
Macaroni mixed with a cream and cheese sauce, topped with breadcrumbs.

Parking is located on Benhams Lane, below the main entrance.

Well behaved dogs are welcome as long as they remain on the lead and are cleared up after. Please note, we have some livestock on site, so would request that dogs are kept well away.

Please note we require 7 days notice to amend, refund or cancel a booking. Any cancellations made within 7 days of the booking are non-refundable. We reserve the right to cancel a session at any time. If this occurs for any reason we will of course notify you by email or telephone and offer a full refund, credit or transfer to another date, no other costs will be considered.
