Oh Sh*t, Sherlock! is a brand new original comedy by playwright Elle Michael River (Murder, Magic & Mead, The Sweetest Crime) based on the classic mysteries by Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes. The twist? The actor playing Sherlock has never seen the script or attended a rehearsal! Absolute hilarity ensues as the rest of the cast try to keep the mystery on track while Sherlock barrels forward on pure comedic instinct alone.

After a hit sold out run this March and April, OH SH*T SHERLOCK returns for a limited time this June!

Set in the intimate October Ensemble Theater, this BYOB event seats audiences close to the action at mini cocktail tables. Grab your favorite bottle of wine and watch the mystery unravel in real time.

When:  June 6th - June 20th

• Select Fridays at 7pm & 9pm
• Saturdays at 1pm, 3pm, 7pm, & 9pm
• Select Sundays at 3pm & 5pm

Where: The October Ensemble Theater (66 S. Main Street, Ocean Grove, NJ, Third Floor) - right near downtown Asbury Park!

RunTime: The show runs approximately 90 minutes with no intermission.

OH SH*T, SHERLOCK features intimate theater seating at our mini cocktail tables. After you purchase tickets, seats will be reserved for you and your party. Every pair of seats has a cocktail table in between.  If you have attended past shows with us, please note this event does not feature our full sized cafe tables and is not BYOF.

How does seating work?

After you purchase tickets, seats will be reserved for you and our hosts will seat you upon arrival. The venue is extremely intimate, so every seat is a fantastic one! If you have multiple separate orders and would like to be seated together, please indicate that in the "are you sitting with another party who has already purchased?" section of the checkout form. If you purchase VIP Tickets, you will be seated in the front row. 

Large groups may be split amongst multiple rows of seating. 

Is the venue wheelchair and mobility accessible? 

Yes. The venue has a ramp at the front entrance and an elevator to reach the third floor. If you require a wheelchair seat, there is a spot to notate that during checkout. If you have specific accommodations you would like to discuss, please email info@octoberensemble.com 

Why is this show Rated R? 

The show may contain mature language and humor. Every performance is different depending on who is playing Sherlock and the choices they make.

Is this show BYOB?

Yes, this show is BYOB! Please note patrons must be 21+ to attend (ID is checked at the door). Patrons who become overly intoxicated will be asked to leave and removed from the premises by security staff. Please drink responsibly. We take this very seriously.

Is this show BYOF (Bring your own food) like some of your past productions? 

No. This show features mini cocktail table seating that is perfect for drinks, but do not provide enough room for full spreads of food. Traditional theatre concessions (Candy, Chips, Water, etc.) will be available prior to the show. 

I've never heard of this show before. Has it been done before?

OH SH*T SHERLOCK is an original comedy written by esteemed playwright Elle Michael River (Murder, Magic & Mead , The Sweetest Crime) based on the the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes. It had its sold-out world premiere run right here at the October Ensemble theatre just a couple of months ago, and is returning for a limited time this June! Don't miss it! 

Does this show include audience participation? 

No, this show does not include audience participation. It is an immersive experience where patrons follow one unscripted actor as they stumble their way through a classic Sherlock Holmes mystery. 

Can I be chosen to be Sherlock?

No. Sherlock Holmes will be played by a different local actor every night, who has never seen the script before.
