ODE Series 01: Live Music & Visual Art at October Gallery, London

Limited to 50 guests, Ode is a curated cross-cultural performance of live music & visual art in a gallery setting.

This first edition marks the beginning of the ODE series, developed from an ongoing music research project exploring cross-cultural performance. This edition brings together three distinct practices: visual artist Isatu Nyalah, whose work draws on Sierra Leonean heritage, Ukrainian bandura artist and vocalist Mariia Petrovska, and Greek composer Ioannis Panagiotidis.

The evening unfolds through individual music performances, while Nyalah’s visual installation remains present throughout, shaping a continuous visual environment. It culminates in a shared closing collaboration between Petrovska and Panagiotidis, bringing together their distinct musical worlds. Presented without amplification in an intimate gallery setting, the event focuses on natural resonance, presence and close listening.

The evening concludes with an post-performance gathering, where audience and artists share a drink and space for conversation.

• 20:00 - Mariia Petrovska (music set)

• 20:30 - Collaborative closing performance (Petrovska - Panagiotidis)

• 21:00 Post-performance gathering in the gallery space with a glass of wine
