CORNWALL OffBeat Presents: Southern Journey (Revisited)

Free Event!

OffBeat is back for an American special in honour of the eagerly anticipated midterm elections.

We're very excited (and feel quite privileged) to be screening the wonderful Southern Journey (Revisited), made by our lovely friends at Fifth Column Films. The film was made during the 2018 Trump midterms and explore the truths behind the stereotypes of the Southern USA. It's a film which retraces the route of an iconic song collecting trip from the late 1950s - Alan Lomax's Southern Journey which he went on with the (not yet famous) Shirley Collins.

You're in for a real treat and hopefully we'll have an election result to celebrating on behalf of our American cousins (and everyone else).

We’ll be at Verdant Taproom in Penryn on the 3rd of November (doors 6:30pm, films start 7:30pm)

Can’t wait to see you!
