Offshoots Festival 2026

A volunteer is a plant that sprouts where it wasn't planted. In the crack of a pavement or the edge of a garden bed, a volunteer takes root and grows. 

This idea underpins Offshoots Festival 2026: three weeks of sculpture, film, food and workshops circling around what it means to take root somewhere you weren’t originally meant to be.

There's a garden workshop making ink from foraged weeds. A sculpture exhibition featuring five artists working across growth, ageing, and the life cycle. Two Ray Yeung films about older queer lives lived quietly for decades. A screening of Chinatown Cha-Cha with the ESEACC dancing aunties and a community dancefloor after. There will also be zine-making, ketupat weaving, and a Teochew Gongfu tea session.

Held at ESEA Community Centre and part of ESEA Heritage Month.
