Join Raj Chaudhuri OPA as he separates out the big steps in creating a painting. From the initial idea to collecting references, combining them, doing studies and so much more! The focus will be on design, miserly use of value, color harmony, light, and other concepts such as asymmetry. Raj will go through his process using a 2-value start to find a balance between elements that are competing for attention to create a unified, harmonious, and beautiful painting.

Raj Chaudhuri’s work has received numerous awards from several prestigious art organizations including OPA, Portrait Society of America and more. He is a signature member of OPA and AIS. He has done demos at national conventions including OPA and more recently the Plein Air Convention and Expo. To Raj, painting is about finding beauty, balance and something visually engaging. The design of a painting is paramount, and he tries to find something beautiful, simple and clear in the composition build in layers upon layers of complexity.
