"Symphonic Ephemera" by M Dougherty
Artist M Dougherty invites audiences to experience a symphony of scent on the Odor Organ. The Odor Organ is a new instrument that the artist created in the familiar form of a piano that allows people to play scents instead of sounds. As this is the first time this instrument will be played in concert, M will carry audiences through various scent scapes themselves. In future iterations of this performance, perfumers, musicians, and other artists will be invited to perform, revealing the varying potential in what can be created through this format. Before and after performances, audiences are welcomed to play the instrument, exploring and playing with the musicality of scent.
