Building YOUR Board
A 3- hour facilitated, interactive workshop with and for founders and NEDs at all stages in their lifecycle:
- For startup founders planning their growth journeys
- for Scaleup Founders wanting to maximise their own and their business's potential and to ensure they have the best options for "exit" - whatever that may mean for them
- For established SME founder-CxOs wanting a refresh on their responsibilities and to build succession and resilience plans
- For current or aspiring NEDs and chairs wanting a refresh on their role in supporting founders on their Journeys, through the lens of the Founder Journey
Governance should not be a dirty word, or one that is just for big corporations or for having "your homework marked". It should be about maximising success at every stage of your journey.
By exploring what this term governance means for early and established businesses, we will cover:
- Context
- The different ‘hats’ of the founder; Responsibilities of the director
- What’s the point? The value of a non-exec board; The value of diversity; Collective responsibility; Competencies
- The role of your Board in practice - Making the most of your board; Chair/CEO dynamics; Tasks and powers of the Board; Agendas & minutes; Hiring, firing & reward; Managing conflict and conflicts of interest
Built on lived experience of doing a startup, scaleup, IPO, being a PLC executive and a NED, Chartered Director training and experience of supporting many 100s of entrepreneurs on their Founder journeys via the SETsqaured Incubator, Nick Sturge will facilitate this workshop to refresh or start your journey as an effective entrepreneurial director, true to your own values and aspirations and fulfilling your responsibilities as director and shareholder.
