Botanical Cyanotype Course
Sat 11 May 2024 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
OmVed Gardens, N6 5JF
Description
Learn the art of cyanotype printing and make your own botanical blue print at OmVedGardens with London artist Rosalind Hobley. Cyanotype printing is an early photographic method, often associated with botanical subjects. Prints are made by laying flowers, leaves or other objects on the photosensitive paper and exposing it to light. Alternatively, you can use a photographic negative to make the print. This introductory course will teach you how to make your own ‘blue prints’ using both techniques. You will learn how to mix up the cyanotype solution, paint it onto the paper, and expose and develop your prints. We will use flowers and plants from the garden to make your designs, or you can provide a photo that you would like to work from. The course is 3 hours long and no previous experience is needed. ![]()
