Painting with nature - Children's Workshop
We will start by taking a walk around OmVed Gardens before collecting flowers and leaves to make our brushes.
There will be a selection of handles such as bamboo and willow on the nature table but the children will choose their brush heads to make a variety of brushes to paint from.
Then, working outdoors (weather permitting), we will assemble our nature paintbrushes before looking at different ways to make paint using natural inks thinking about different brushes for a variety of mark making.
Children will be able to choose a scene or motif to paint from the gardens or the Alchemy exhibition, or use their own imagination, and they will take home their handmade nature brushes as well as their final paintings.
Suitable for children aged between 6 and 12 years old.
* Please note that all children must be accompanied by an adult.

About OmVed Gardens:
Since 2017, we have been carefully restoring a previously tarmacked land in Highgate Village, north London, to provide a space to explore food, creativity and ecology for health and climate resilience.
We are a community interest company featuring a permaculture garden, a creative zero-waste kitchen and a growing educational, events and exhibition space. Our aims are to realise our deep entwinement with each other and the more-than-human, through thinking around food, gardening and ecological awareness, to improve diversity at all levels (seed, food, species, participation) and to use creativity and nature-led knowledge to help tackle the climate emergency.
