A garden treasure hunt for children aged 6-10, based on Gabby Dawnay new book A Field Guide to Spring.

The treasure hunt will encourage children to develop their curiosity, creativity and connection with nature.

About the book

A Field Guide to Spring is a pocket-sized introduction to spring inspired by the Forest School movement.

"Dear readers, readers-to-be, writers, poets and mini-artists –

Spring is here! Let’s take a walk outside…

Find a tree and stand beneath it.

Look up… what do you see on the branches?

Listen… can you describe what you hear?

Breathe in…what perfumes fill the air?

Close your eyes and FEEL the sun on your skin.

Look around – what are the signs that Nature has woken up after a long winter sleep?

Let’s explore, learn and and draw from nature!"

*If you have two children who would like to attend, we offer a discount. Please get in touch with us on events@omvegardens.com

About OmVed Gardens:

Since 2017, we have been carefully restoring a previously tarmacked land in Highgate Village, north London, to provide a space to explore food, creativity and ecology for health and climate resilience.

We are a community interest company featuring a permaculture garden, a creative zero-waste kitchen and a growing educational, events and exhibition space. Our aims are to realise our deep entwinement with each other and the more-than-human, through thinking around food, gardening and ecological awareness, to improve diversity at all levels (seed, food, species, participation) and to use creativity and nature-led knowledge to help tackle the climate emergency.
