Open House Festival - Open Sunday

We're delighted to be opening our doors as part of Open House Festival 2026, a chance to explore OmVed Gardens up close, discover our newly built centre for food, ecology and creativity by architect Piers Smerin, situated within the garden landscape designed by Paul Gazerwitz.

Set on a Highgate hillside, the gardens weave, meadows, vegetable plots, ponds and orchards into a green hub alive with biodiversity — with buildings designed to sit within it, blurring the line between indoors and out.

The OmVed Kitchen will be open all day, serving seasonal treats and botanical drinks made with garden produce and locally sourced ingredients.

There will be talks and activities on the day to be announced. 

The Greenhouse – A tall, sun-filled volume with a serpentine path winding through open-ground planters.

The Seed Library – A double-height, dimly lit core with an openable rooflight for upward ventilation — precisely the conditions needed for drying and storing seed.

The Barn & Kitchen – A lofty seminar hall and food space opening onto a sunlit terrace, designed to dissolve the boundary between inside and out.

The Sky Garden – An edible garden planted above the kitchen, with seasonal growing and views across the gardens.

The Pavilion – Designed by architects selgascano for our appearance at the 2022 Chelsea Flower Show, a place to pause beneath its canopy of interior plane trees.

The Amphitheatre – An open-air amphitheatre framed by Abstract Forms, a monumental sculpture by British artist Paul Mount.

A note on accessibility: The gardens are set on a hill, featuring steep paths and may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. Wheelchair access across the site is currently limited while landscape works are underway. For events, there is drop-off access by car to the Barn main building. If you require wheelchair drop-off, please get in touch with us ahead of time. There is an accessible toilet located inside the Barn.
