Friday Live: Rachel Kitchlew

Artist Rachel Kitchlew brings her distinctive blend of ambient, jazz and experimental harp to a performance of improvised harp, joined by Rosie Turton ‘Nomyeie' on modular synth and trombone, and Clementine Brown on violin and effects.

Together creating shifting soundscapes among the suspended living installations of Rachel’s fruiting mushroom orbs, Urban Fungariums.

Rachel's debut album ‘Flirty Ghost’ was named Album of the Month by FIP Radio and has received airplay across BBC Radio 3 & 6, Jazz FM and Soho Radio. Rachel has performed at Ronnie Scott’s, Glastonbury, Montreal Jazz Festival and Paradiso, and toured Europe with Alice Boyd supporting Yann Tiersen. Flirty Ghost will be available to buy on the night.

Join us for Friday Live at OmVed Gardens – an enchanting evening where nature meets creativity. From soulful music to captivating acts, all while enjoying the peaceful surroundings. It's the perfect way to unwind, experience the magic of nature by night, and enjoy an evening filled with art, music, and connection. 

A non-alcoholic bar will be open throughout the evening serving a range of OmVed Cordials and refreshing botanical drinks.

About the Artists

Rachel Kitchlew

Rachel Kitchlew is a multidisciplinary designer and professional harpist and composer. She’s the founder of Urban Fungarium, an online platform where fungal based research, artwork, and material exploration are logged and shared within the community.

Rachel’s work focuses on sustainable circular systems, regenerative design, and finding ways to close loops within waste streams. Biophilic design is an important part of her practice, alongside exploring the potential of mycelium-based materials and how they are beneficial and important, when incorporated into our living and built environment.

Clementine Brown 

Clementine Brown is a London based violinist, string arranger and composer. Her musical interests are diverse and she enjoys playing with a number of bands; currently Penguin Cafe, Sholto and This Is The Deep, as well as in other experimental projects.

For events, there is drop-off access by car to the Barn main building. If you require wheelchair drop-off, please get in touch with us at least 48 hours ahead of time. There is an accessible toilet located inside the Barn.

Subsidised Tickets: A small number of subsidised tickets are available for this event. If cost is a barrier, please write to us at events@omvedgardens.com — we'd love to help you join us. Subject to availability.

Refund Policy: Tickets are non-refundable. In cases where an event is sold out and a waiting list exists for the session, a credit voucher may be issued. Please write to us for any cancellation inquiries at least 24 hours before the event starts.

In case of extreme weather, and the event goes ahead, we will offer a credit note for future events. If we have to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, we will refund your ticket.
