Chris LaVancher
Chris LaVancher released his third full-length album in November 2021 – “After The Flood” a collection of songs full of heart from a seasoned and skilled craftsman mining life’s subject matter – family, work, love and love lost, childhood memories, and finding one's place in the universe.
Chris’s performance evokes a mini-movie festival in your head, complete with a full soundtrack. He writes cinematic, character-driven songs. His song Nostalgia from his second album, Big Fat Love, received an honorable mention in the 2018 Woody Guthrie Folk Festival Songwriting Contest. In 2014 Chris was selected as a Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artist and performed on the main stage. He was also selected for the Suzi Wollenberg Folk DJ showcase at the North East Regional Folk Alliance.
Chris grew up in a small town in the hills of North Central Pennsylvania where he learned to observe the many wonderful characters that inhabited that little town. Today he lives just north of Boston Massachusetts, a Mecca for folk singers and songwriters, but much of his inspiration still goes back to that little town in Pennsylvania.

I love the clean clarity of the acoustic guitar, and I believe my songs reflect that. My subject matter comes from love and topics of value to myself and hopefully others. I grew up in RI, moved to the flat land in NH in the 70's, then north to the hills of Warner 3 years ago. The trend says I'll be in Canada someday. But, I've met a ton of new friends up here who all have good hearts and share a love of song, so I hope to stay for a long, long time.
Beth DeSombre (pronunciation: de-SOM-bree) writes songs that are "smart and uplifting...focusing on the quiet meaning to be found in ordinary life" (Sing Out! Magazine), exploring issues from the personal to the political. Her music touches both mind and heart, with insights wrapped in melody and harmony that stay with you after the echoes of the last chorus have faded away.
Her 2017 EP, Resistance, reached #10 on the folk charts (with two top-10 songs). This EP, with songs written in response to the current political situation, is a fundraiser for the ACLU. Her 2016 CD, I Was Here, was produced by Sean Staples, and includes guest appearances by Tracy Grammer, Vance Gilbert, Laura Cortese, and other music luminaries. An award-winning writer in many formats, her most recent (eighth) book just published.
