A Rebellion of Care - an evening with David Gate
One Church Brighton are thrilled to be hosting David Gate, for the first UK event celebrating his book, A Rebellion of Care. This moving manifesto, in poems and essays, invites readers to embrace their humanity and live fully alive in our age of social change, hyper-capitalism, and pervasive loneliness.

David is a poet, writer and visual artist who hails from London, UK and now resides in the mist of the ancient Blue Ridge Mountains in Asheville, North Carolina. His work centres around care for the individual and the nurture of community; capturing the absurdity and beauty of living in this political moment whilst still finding joy in everyday people and things. Expect his conversation with Lianne from One Church to similarly run the gamut of topics: from his writing process and political insights gleaned living in the Southern United States, to whether Trader Joe's is really as great as American podcasters have lead us to believe.
Their discussion will be interspersed with readings from A Rebellion of Care, with plenty of time for questions from the audience. This will be followed by a book signing, where David will also have prints and stickers available for purchase.
