Zine Making Workshop with Rusty

Wed 18 Jun 2025 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM Walcot Chapel, BA1 5UG

Be guided through the world of small publishing, zine making and gelli printing in this wonderful, creative workshop.

Through personal and collaborative making, you will explore the ideas of our relationships working with paper and print. Taught by printmaker and zine-faniatic, Rusty, you will be led through start to finish of the making of a small publication. During the 2 hour workshop you will get to cut, stick, print, staple or even sew your way through producing your own personal A5 zine publication (or more if you’re feeling up to the challenge).

You will also collaborate with other workshop attendees in producing a Gelli Plate printed
publication based on what you learnt during the workshop.

Nothing is off the table when it comes to zine making: This workshop is perfect for anyone
looking to introduce themselves to fun, friendly, explorative making.

All materials for the workshop will be provided, but we encourage to bring along any:
• Paper, Card (A4/A3)
• Newspaper, Magazines, Leaflets, Personal images (that you’re willing to cut + stick)
• Found ephemera + objects
• String, wool, thread
• Stamps
(These items are not required to bring for the workshop, but are suggested to make your work
more personal).

Robin 'Rusty' Felix Griffiths is an award winning dyslexic, professional loudmouth and Cornish Queer artist. With a focus on printmaking and the ‘folk’, his practice strides towards making art as accessible as possible, whilst trying to
make a few people think and laugh along the way.

Details:

Is there an age limit for the workshop?
Anyone can attend our workshops, though unfortunately we do not allow children under 12. Those under 16 we do request are accompanied by an adult. Please do get in touch if you'd like to discuss.

What should I bring?
You don't need anything - we'll provide everything you need for this workshop.

What are my transport/parking options getting to you?
There is parking in Bath in several locations - the nearest to Walcot Chapel would be the Podium car park or the Cattlemarket car park. Train services to Bath Spa are very regular and the walk to Walcot Chapel takes around 25 minutes.

Cancellation Terms
Please ensure you can attend the workshop before booking, as tickets for the On Paper Festival are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you are ill, shipwrecked, or unable to attend for any other reason, we are unable to swap your date, though you are more than welcome to find a friend that can take your place.
