Paper Collage - Grand Fair Mini Workshop
Paper Collage - Grand Fair Mini Workshop
Enjoy a creative workshop during your visit to the Grand Fair! Create beautiful collages using pages from nostalgic Ladybird books, placing the distinctive illustrations of C.F. Tunnicliffe and the original book text at the heart of your work. You’ll combine these vintage elements with a selection of recycled and repurposed papers to build layered, expressive compositions.
This 30 minute workshop is open to all levels. You’ll work directly with Tunnicliffe’s imagery and the language of the books — selecting details, phrases, and visual moments that stand out to you — and use collage techniques and paper layering to shape them into new pieces. There’s also room to add your own words and lettering. The focus is on process: cutting, arranging, inking, folding, and assembling at your own pace. You’ll leave with a few finished collages and a set of techniques you can easily continue at home using everyday recycled materials.
You'll get to select the size of your work from postcard, business cards, bookmarks or one larger collage. Additional packs of Ladybird pages and collage supplies will be available to buy on the day (cash only please).
Guiding the class is local artist and creative facilitator Karen Woodfield. Karen is the creative lead for the National Trust’s monthly Connections Café and works widely across Bath on community‑centred creative projects.
Please note, you need an entry ticket to the Grand Fair to access this workshop.
