On the Edge initial meeting

Use Your Voice is thrilled to announce that the first On the Edge festival will take place across Lowestoft in the week from Saturday 12^th to Sunday 20^th September 2026. We hope that you and many other local organisations, groups and businesses will be interested by our idea and will want to take part.

On the Edge is about showcasing our town from every perspective we can imagine, from history to sea level rise, from allotments to zoo-keeping. We’re aiming for drama, for art, for science, for education, for residents, for community groups, for businesses large and small, for councils, for all to express in their own way what it’s like to be living On the Edge. The festival’s underlying theme is our changing town, what’s happened in the past, what we’re doing right now, and what might – we would say ‘must’ – be done going forwards to secure ourselves a positive future. It’s about bringing people together, it’s about getting involved, it’s about starting something new, it’s about ‘joining the dots’.
