This is the first round of stakeholder workshops being held by the Open Product Initiative.

We are looking to speak with anyone involved in the WEEE and batteries value chain.

You might be from:

  • a manufacturer / producer
  • an importer / distributor
  • a local authority
  • a retailer
  • a brand
  • a compliance scheme
  • a materials reprocessor or recycler
  • a waste management company
  • a trade body

We want to understand all of the steps in the value chain, what data is collected at each one and what is passed onto the next. We're keen to find out where this process is challenging and what the sensitivities are around it. In addition, we would like to discuss Extended Producer Responsibility including recent developments around digital product passports (DPP) and understand any concerns around these.

The Open Product Initiative is a collaborative project between Loughborough University, Open Data Manchester and Dsposal, with support from Tech UK and Buyerdock.

The aim is to explore the development of an open standard for batteries and EEE/WEEE data building on the work already conducted to develop the Open 3P standard for packaging data. You do not need to be a 'data person'!

Workshops have a limited number of participants, but there are four workshops in total in this batch:

Wednesday 1st May, Thursday 2nd May, Tuesday 14th May and Wednesday 15th May.

Please choose a date that suits you. If a date gets filled, tickets will no longer be available. We hope you can find a date to join us. Get in touch with us if you're having any problems.

Thank you so much for your interest and we look forward to seeing you at one of our workshops soon!

These workshops will be held virtually and you will be sent a Zoom link before the event along with a consent form. If you want to join in and have issues with joining via Zoom please do get in touch.
