Open Product Initiative - (W)EEE and Batteries Supply Chains Workshop
Multiple dates and times
Online, Zoom
Description
The Open Product Initiative seeks to establish a new standards-based approach to data sharing and governance, fostering a digitally enabled Circular Economy (CE) to benefit everyone in their respective value chains.
This collaborative project is by Loughborough University, Open Data Manchester CIC, Dsposal, TechUK, and Buyerdock, with funding from the Impact Accelerator Fund. In its early stages, the initiative aims to develop versatile data infrastructure, with an initial focus on batteries and Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE), to address the significant and growing market and waste challenges in these sectors.
The initiative supports the development of open standards for data exchange, enhancing data accuracy and reducing administrative burdens, while helping producers meet global reporting requirements. This collaboration benefits manufacturers, brands, retailers, governments, recyclers, third-party services, and the public by improving data efficiency, supply chain visibility, and circularity.
This is an open invitation to those in the (W)EEE & battery ecosystem, especially within the value chain (e.g. manufacturers, brands, retailers, distributors, recyclers), to share their expertise. No prior experience is required.
Workshop Content
In these workshops we will be sharing back our research findings so far and getting your feedback on the data attributes we will include in the Open Product Data Standard. In each workshop we will be focussing on a specific part of the ecosystem so if you can come to the one that is most relevant to you that would ideal. If that date doesn't work for you please feel free to sign up for another date as your input would still be valuable.
