We are excited to announce Hack4Tourism Calabria Recharge: Crafting Tomorrow's Tourism, a pioneering initiative aimed at transforming the tourism landscape of Calabria by boldly addressing the challenges for more sustainable and innovative tourism. This event, orchestrated by Open Data Playground with the support of Calabrian Universities, Entopan, and the institutional backing of the Calabria Region, will be held virtually from May 11 to 19, 2024, with a ground finale on June 4 in Reggio Calabria.

The event includes 2 independent tasks: a data analysis task and a business strategy task.

The invitation is extended to Calabrian University students to devise original and analytical solutions that outline new directions for regional tourism. Participants will be called upon to manipulate open data and formulate business and communication strategies, investigating paths for a responsible tourism evolution that enhances Calabria's historical-cultural and environmental heritage.

This project aims to elevate Calabrian tourism while simultaneously providing participants with opportunities for access to technological innovations and employment prospects thanks to the contribution of sponsors.

Thanks to the collaboration with Palantir, participants will have access to enterprise data science development solutions. Additionally, Fastweb Digital Academy will provide training and resources to support the development of the skills needed to tackle the hackathon's challenges.

Teams will work on developing algorithms and marketing plans to encourage fair and sustainable tourism that enhances Calabria's natural and cultural heritage, reducing environmental impact and boosting benefits for local communities.

Siamo entusiasti di annunciare Hack4Tourism Calabria Recharge: Crafting Tomorrow's Tourism, un'iniziativa pionieristica destinata a trasformare il panorama turistico della Calabria affrontando con determinazione le sfide per un turismo più sostenibile e innovativo. Questo evento, orchestrato da Open Data Playground con il sostegno delle Università Calabresi, Entopan, e il supporto istituzionale della Regione Calabria, si terrà virtualmente dall'11 al 19 maggio 2024, con una finale terrestre il 4 giugno a Reggio Calabria.

L'evento prevede 2 task indipendenti tra di loro: un task di analisi dati e un task di business strategy.

L'invito è rivolto agli studenti universitari calabresi per ideare soluzioni originali e analitiche che delineino le nuove direzioni del turismo regionale. I partecipanti saranno chiamati a manipolare dati aperti e a formulare strategie di business e comunicazione, investigando le vie per un'evoluzione turistica responsabile che esalti il patrimonio storico-culturale e ambientale della Calabria.

Questo progetto si prefigge di elevare il turismo calabrese, garantendo nel contempo agli intervenuti opportunità di accesso a innovazioni tecnologiche e prospettive occupazionali grazie al contributo degli sponsor.

Grazie alla collaborazione con Palantir, i partecipanti avranno accesso a soluzioni enterprise di sviluppo data science. Inoltre, la Fastweb Digital Academy fornirà formazione e risorse per supportare lo sviluppo delle competenze necessarie per affrontare le sfide dell'hackathon.

I gruppi lavoreranno allo sviluppo di algoritmi e piani di marketing per incentivare un turismo equo e sostenibile che esalti il patrimonio naturale e culturale della Calabria, riducendo l'impatto ambientale e potenziando i vantaggi per le comunità locali.
