Welcome to the H4T Bologna Hackathon 2024, a pioneering event organized by Open Data Playground in collaboration with the Junior Enterprise association from Bologna. This initiative aims to explore innovative data-driven solutions to enhance sustainable urban mobility.

Event Details

The event will be held online from November 23 2024 (9.00 am) to November 25 2024 (9.00 am). The goal is to develop data-driven solutions that enhance urban mobility in Bologna. Finalist teams will have the opportunity to present their solutions at the hybrid awards ceremony during a pitch competition on November 29, 2024.

Participation

Participation is open to all university students from institutions across Emilia Romagna. High school students may also participate in a less challenging event designed for orientation and PCTO activities. Individual registration is possible, and support to form a team will be provided via the Open Data Playground Discord server.

Technical Environment

[Only University Students] For this competition, you will have access to Palantir’s Foundry suite, which will allow you to carry out the project from data integration to visualization. Solutions will be automatically assessed within the Palantir Foundry environment.

Submissions

[Only University Students] Submissions will be made on a dedicated Palantir Foundry platform where you can upload your solutions and check your team's rankings in real time.

Registration

The number of teams is limited to 20, so take advantage of this opportunity. Participation is completely free. We highly encourage all participants to complete their registration on Ticket Tailor as soon as possible.

Steps for Registration

1. Verify Eligibility: Be university students at the University of Bologna. Be available to work in a team of four people. Specify your team name in the registration form.

2. Deadline: Registration closes on November 02, 2024, at 00:00.

• Each team member must complete their individual registration on Ticket Tailor, Discord, and Palantir.

Activate Your Profile on Palantir Foundry

After the closure of the registration (23/11/24 h 08.59 CET), you will receive an email invitation to activate your profile on Foundry. Remember to check your SPAM folder. Follow the instructions in the email to create your personal profile on Foundry.

Participation in Preliminary Courses

In the two weeks before the event, it is highly recommended to participate in the online courses offered to prepare for the hackathon, including those from Fastweb Digital Academy.

Event Participation

The hackathon will be held online from November 23 (09:00) to November 25 (09:00), 2024. Ensure you have a stable internet connection and access the event platform on the specified dates and times.

Solution Submission

Solutions (both partial and final) must be uploaded to the dedicated platform within the Palantir Foundry environment. After uploading the file, you will be able to view your score and ranking position.

Evaluation and Awards

Results will be evaluated from November 25 to November 27 by a qualified jury. Finalists will be invited to a Pitch Competition on December, 2024, during TechWeek in Bologna.
