Alpine Data Challenge: Climate Monitoring between the Susa and Maurienne valleys
Welcome to the Alpine Climate Data Challenge 2025, an innovative hackathon organized by TELT in collaboration with Open Data Playground, Palantir, Fourth Age, AWorld, and ZeroCO2. This initiative aims to develop data-driven solutions to mitigate the climate change impact on the Susa and Maurienne valleys, between Italy and France.

The event is now international! For the first time, university and PhD students from all over the world are invited to join. This brings together the brightest minds globally to collaborate and solve climate challenges.🚀 The final will take place in Turin on March 12!
Event Details
The event will be held online, and the goal is to leverage open data to create predictive models, actionable insights, and data visualization solutions that can help monitor the effects of climate change. Finalist teams will present their solutions at a hybrid awards ceremony in Turin in 12 March 2025, at the TELT headquarters.
Participation
To participate, you must be a university or PhD student and create teams of four. Individual registration is also possible, and support for team formation will be provided via the Open Data Playground Discord server.
Technical Environment
For this competition, you will have access to Palantir’s Foundry suite, which will allow you to carry out the project from data integration to visualization. Solutions will be uploaded within the Palantir Foundry environment.
Registration
- Verify Eligibility:
Be university or PhD students worldwide.
Be available to work in a team of four people.
Specify your team name in the registration form.
- Deadline:
Registration closes on February 19, 2025, at 23:59:59 CET.

Each team member must complete their individual registration on Ticket Tailor, Discord, and Palantir.
- Activate Your Profile on Palantir Foundry:
After the closure of registration (20/02/25 h 00.00 CET), you will receive an email invitation to activate your profile on Foundry. Remember to check your SPAM folder. Follow the instructions in the email to create your personal profile on Foundry.
Participation in Preliminary Courses
In the four weeks before the event, it is highly recommended to participate in the online courses offered to prepare for the hackathon and for Palantir Foundry.
Event Participation
The hackathon will be held online from February 22 (09:00 AM CET) to March 3 (09:00 AM CET), 2025. Ensure you have a stable internet connection and access the event platform on the specified dates and times.
Solution Submission
Solutions (both partial and final) must be uploaded to the dedicated platform within the Palantir Foundry environment.
Evaluation and Awards
Results will be evaluated from March 4 to March 8 by a qualified jury. Finalists will be invited to a Pitch Competition on March 12, 2025, during the hybrid awards event at the TELT headquarters in Turin.
