Join us for the 2026 Open Door Recovery Gala, our annual fundraiser celebrating real transformation through Jesus Christ.

Since 2012, Open Door Re-entry & Recovery Ministry has helped men rebuild their lives through a Christ-centered recovery program built on relationship, truth, and accountability. This special evening brings our community together to celebrate lives changed, hear where the ministry is headed next, and help make that vision possible.

What to Expect

This year's Gala will feature:

  • Powerful stories of transformation from men whose lives have been impacted through Open Door
  • An update on the future Open Door Community Campus, including plans to significantly expand recovery and transitional housing
  • Special guest speakers Teresa Rizzo, Executive Director of the Flagler County Education Foundation, and comedian and actor Drew Thomas
  • A message from Pastor Charles Silano, Chairman of Open Door Re-entry & Recovery
  • Mocktails and a silent auction
  • Dinner in the Ocean Ballroom at Hammock Beach Resort
  • An opportunity to partner with the next chapter of Open Door's mission

Featured Guests

Teresa Rizzo
Executive Director, Flagler County Education Foundation

Teresa Rizzo is the Executive Director of the Flagler County Education Foundation and a longtime educator and community leader. After 14 years teaching in Flagler Schools, she moved into instructional leadership and later served as a Regional Literacy Director with the Florida Department of Education before taking the helm of the Foundation in 2022. Today, she works alongside schools, families, businesses, and community partners to expand opportunities for students throughout Flagler County.

Drew Thomas
Comedian & Actor

Drew Thomas is a nationally touring comedian and actor known for his quick wit, relatable storytelling, and engaging stage presence. His television appearances include NBC's Last Comic Standing, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Laughs on Fox, and Comedy All Stars on Pure Flix. He has performed across the country and brings a lighter, entertaining element to this year's Gala.

Building the Vision Together

Open Door currently operates two homes: a recovery home serving up to seven men and a transitional home serving up to four. The recovery program lasts nine months, followed by an optional transitional period of up to two years that gives men time to work, save, and prepare for successful independent living.

The vision is much bigger.

Plans for the future Open Door Community Campus in Bunnell include up to 22 tiny homes, with each home designed to house two men. Six to eight homes are planned for the recovery program, with the remaining homes providing transitional housing. Once fully developed, the campus could allow Open Door to serve far more men while providing a supportive environment for long-term recovery, stability, and growth.

Planning and approvals are currently underway, and more details about the campus and what's ahead will be shared at the Gala.
