On 22 September, the Open & Embedded Insurance Observatory returns to New York, hosted in partnership with AWS.
The day is one extended roundtable. A selected group of senior executives sits at a single table and works through five questions — no stage, no presentations, and no seats that aren't at the table. Each discussion opens with one voice putting a position forward, and then belongs to the room. Chatham House Rule throughout: what is said can be used, who said it cannot.
10:00 to 15:30, lunch in the middle, at AWS on 7 West 34th Street.
The five discussions
- What the distribution chain actually wants from a carrier
- Auto insurance and the OEM: how far into underwriting will manufacturers go
- Card-linked insurance benefits
- Where the B2B marketplace is taking the relationship between carriers, brokers, platforms and SMBs
- Scaling partner-led distribution within existing regulatory models
About the community
The Open & Embedded Insurance Observatory is a member-led community — forty-plus member organisations that come together to share what they are actually experiencing in the market, not what they wish were true. Membership spans the full ecosystem: reinsurers, insurers, brokers, MGAs, technology enablers, and — critically — the non-insurance distribution brands themselves.
What makes the community distinctive is precisely that mix. When an insurer and a distribution partner are in the same room, working through the same question, the conversation is different from anything you get at a single-sector conference or in a consulting report. The roundtable format is what turns that mix into an actual exchange rather than an audience.
