Feedback Auditions offer singers an opportunity to perform their audition repertoire and receive valuable feedback from a panel of industry professionals, as well as a high-definition video of their audition. Panels composed of stage directors, coaches, management representatives, and artistic directors evaluate each singer’s entire package, including vocal performance, audition repertoire offered, written materials, visual presentation, and preparation.
Feedback Auditions can help singers in a range of career stages, including those just beginning to navigate the audition process, those looking to improve their presentation and audition package, and those who would like the experience of receiving face-to-face comments. Singers contemplating a change of fach or repertoire will also find this a safe and constructive atmosphere in which to experiment.
The auditions take place in the acoustically excellent Marc A. Scorca Hall at OPERA America’s National Opera Center, which is equipped to record each session. Each participant receives a high-definition digital video recording of their 20-minute audition, including the sung audition and verbal feedback given by the panel. A pianist will be provided, or singers may bring their own.
