Green Investment Roadshow, Bristol Cathedral
Join us in the inspiring surroundings of Bristol Cathedral to explore how to make your church finances work for climate, nature, and social justice
There is an urgent need to increase investment in climate mitigation and adaptation which, for churches, is also a huge opportunity to show leadership and care for God’s creation. However churches are faced with an increasingly complex landscape, including the environmental and moral implications of AI, mining, fossil fuels, and emerging green technologies and solutions.
Our roadshow events will bring together experts and organisations showcasing inspiring examples of climate solutions alongside investment opportunities for institutions, churches and individuals.
Timings: 9.30am arrival ending with lunch at 1.00pm.
Featuring:
- Presentations and a panel discussion from experienced investors and experts including Paul Whitehouse, Quakers in Britain, Chris Butler, CEO Ethex and Roger Hattam, COO Triodos
- A discussion convened by JustMoney Movement on Bang for your Buck: How to generate the most climate impact
- A workshop by Hope for the Future focusing on how churches and individuals can influence local investments flows - such as pension funds - towards green investments by engaging with the Local Authority and political leaders. The workshop will cover:
- How political and financial systems intersect, including councils, pensions, and policy;
- Practical strategies for engaging local councillors, pension fund committees, and regional decision-makers;
- Building constructive relationships with politicians;
- Developing clear, localised advocacy asks.
- Networking and time with exhibitors
