Anyone practicing as a coach or consultant inevitably gets caught up at times in the dynamics of the encounter—whether in negotiating the contract, designing an intervention, or anywhere along the way. This is especially likely to happen when we work with 'ourselves as instrument'. And as most of us know from experience, supervision can be invaluable in retrieving our capacity to think.
OPUS supervision groups have been running successfully since 2022, and we are now setting up a new group for 2026/2027, comprising 7-8members so as to enable practice dilemmas to be explored in depth. Working alongside colleagues with different perspectives helps to keep curiosity alive, as we consider the question 'what else is going on here?', taking us beyond our own default ways of making sense of the situations we encounter.
Participants will be practicing actively as coaches or consultants, interested in developing their capacity to work systemically with 'what lies beneath'. They will be committed to bringing current issues from their own practice and to contributing to each other’s learning. Meetings will take place monthly over nine months on Zoom, for 2.5 hours to allow time for two members to bring a specific issue from their practice.
Dates: 2nd Monday of each month:
Oct 13, Nov 10, Dec 8, Jan 12, Feb 9, Mar 9, April 13, May 11, June 8
Time: 16.00 hrs to 18:30 hrs UK time
