Peer Support Group
Next Peer Support Group
Our next Orange Collective Peer Support group is very soon due to an exciting new project that needs some feedback! We will be meeting online for a 2 hrs workshop which will include sensory experiencing with nature.
These Peer Support gatherings provide spaces for peers to test out new ideas and projects, form new collaborations and create community and share skills and knowledge.
Facilitator
This workshop will be facilitated by Clare Plumley. Clare is Artist in Residence for Our Place as part of Brighton Festival. She has been commissioned to make a portable sensory space for permanent housing at Hangleton Community Centre for use with SEND children and groups who visit the centre.
The theme is the seasons and she has proposed a portable cabinet of curiosities using natural materials, focusing primarily on touch, scent and sound.
As a Somatic Experiencing trainee Clare is also considering if and how she might add a layer of interoception (tracking the physiological felt sense) activities to the resource.
If you are interested in this in any way or have an SEND child or are a professional within the field and have experience using or making sensory spaces please do come along to this peer review session.
Clare will be discussing two workshops already led (in order to test content) within the community centre and would love feedback to support further development.
Experience Sensory Experiencing with Nature
She will also be leading an ecosomatic (blend of SE and ecotherapy) experience for those attending so please bring something from nature with a sensory quality which you’d like to explore more.
Clare Plumley is an ecosomatics practitioner, somatic experiencing trainee and artist. She’s been a community worker and arts for health practitioner for 12 years, centering emotional and sensory experience in her participatory art. She developed a live art piece during the pandemic called ‘Touch Hunger’ and her current focus is around touch and intimacy with nature.
