The Orange Collective peer support sessions provide a space for anyone interested in, or already using the arts to support peoples' wellbeing.
In this workshop Lisa will create a therapeutic reflective practice space whilst guiding and supporting you through her workshop. Towards the end of the workshop participants will support each other and Lisa by taking part and reflecting back their experience of the workshop.
Lisa describes her workshop here:
“Holding Time for mothers to share birth & feeding stories'
This workshop is a pilot to test ideas for a Creative health project aimed at mothers who have experience of infant feeding/birth.
All mothers can take part but I’m especially interested in testing out how the process can help create a safe space for mothers to unpack and process their birthing/infant feeding experiences through walking, talking, looking and drawing.
A willingness to share birth and feeding stories will be important. Some people may find this experience triggering, so parents currently experiencing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as a result of birth or feeding issues are advised to wait for a more fully developed program, later in the year.
Lisa Creagh is an artist and mother, founder of the Holding Time Project, a multi- channel interdisciplinary project designed to increase social concern for mothers and birthing parents. Over eight years the project has created a large body of evidence of birth and infant feeding across the UK, with outputs including hospital installations, a YouTube channel and podcast. This workshop will form part of the next stage of the project, working with mothers with experience of Neonatal Intensive Care Units planned for 2026. www.holdingtime.org and www.youtube.com/c/holdingtime
