In our work with arts and wellbeing practice it is vital to develop skills for interrelating and human connection, creating inclusive environments for all.

In this workshop we aim to facilitate an opportunity to connect with each other and consider difference - to develop our cultural awareness and cultural competence. We aim to create a safe, creative and relational space to consider our experiences of othering and being otherered using music, creative writing and image.

We will invite participants to explore common assumptions around diversity, difference and culture; experience the creative process as a catalyst for human connection; explore feelings of being ‘othered’; and engage in creative writing as a technique to help (re-)shape autobiographical narratives. This Orange Collective workshop will be co- facilitated by our associate Aline Giordano and we are very excited to be running our first workshop with her.

Aline Giordano is a Gestalt Practitioner in Organisations (GPO) accredited by the European Association for Gestalt Therapy (EAGT). She is a humanistic coach and organisational consultant. She was awarded an MSc in Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes by Metanoia Institute/Middlesex University with distinction in 2022. Aline has trained with the Gross National Happiness (GNH) Centre in the Kingdom of Bhutan and is a former Associate Lecturer in Popular Music.
