COME ALONG TO A CREATIVE & REFLECTIVE PEER SUPPORT SPACE
WHO? For artists, creative professionals, mental health practitioners, teachers, therapists and anyone interested in using creativity and the arts to support wellbeing. It's an opportunity to meet and chat while art making. (no need to be good at art.) Whether you've been to an Orange Collective workshop or are thinking of coming - all are welcome!! Join us for a relaxed, creative session.
WHY? Since launching the Orange Collective community and workshops in January 2022, we've had a hugely positive response with many of you asking for the creation of a regular peer support space and continued support in developing your practice in community. These Peer workshops are experimental and help to support community members to develop their ideas. So this is also a chance to give feedback to Dagmara and Wendy and support them in their arts and wellbeing work!
HOW? The Orange Collective Peer Support groups provide a space for community members to test out new ideas, share skills and knowledge and give and receive feedback.
Next Session - Can creativity help us talk about death? Co-facilitated with Luna Arts - Dagmara Rudkin and Wendy Pye.
In this workshop we will explore creative approaches to the subject of death. Although death is often hidden from view and rarely discussed, there is a growing movement of people wanting to make the subject of death more visible and to be less avoidant speaking about it. One belief is, if we talk more openly and honestly about death, we may experience less fear of dying and value our lives more, and it could also improve the quality of life for those who are approaching the end of their lives.
Wendy Pye and Dagmara Rudkin, visual artists, art educators and creators of Luna Arts (www.lunaarts.org.uk) will run an exploratory workshop. Creating a safe space to explore death and dying using a series of creative activities.
Wendy has recently co-founded Soul Films, a project specialising in producing short films that remember and celebrate someone who is at end of life or has died. Dagmara is developing a project making personal burial shrouds.
This taster workshop will allow Dagmara and Wendy to explore ideas and receive feedback to support the facilitation of their independent projects and to share their exercises with other therapists and artists to help facilitate discussions about death and dying.
Tickets are just £10 please book here asap so we know how many people are coming.
Really look forward to seeing you there!
