Jacky has worked in Burns since 1987and became the UK’s first Consultant Nurse in Burns in 2010.
She has a passion for wound management as well as the organisational, political and socio-economic issues of burn care.
Jacky was Treasurer of the British Burn Association and the National EMSB Coordinator for several years. She sat on the original Burns CRG and the Trauma and Burns CRG and as part of this coordinated CONOPS Burns Annex, Burns Quality Dashboard and Rehabilitation Prescription working groups.
Jacky has published more than 60 articles and a similar number of national and international conference papers/posters as well as being an investigator for a range of clinical trials.
Jacky has won a host of top awards and accolades, including the British Journal of Nursing: Tissue Viability Nurse of the Year – developing compression in lower leg burns; Nursing Times’ Nurse of the Year – Development of Burns Outreach; Health Service Journal Finalist – Burns Link Nurse Framework.
Dr Emma Hodgkinson

Consultant Clinical Psychologist: Burns & Plastic Surgery and Multispecialty Psychology Services
Psychological Care Lead (Band 8a) for the Northern Burn Care Network
Emma is an HCPC-registered Consultant Clinical Psychologist working in a busy clinical psychology department in a tertiary hospital and major trauma centre. She is the Lead for the Burns & Plastics Clinical Psychology Service and Multispecialty Clinical Psychology Service, Psychosocial Care Lead for the Northern Burn Care Network, and lead on a national project developing patient experience evaluation processes in burn care.
Emma routinely undertakes specialised therapeutic work including assessment and intervention; supervision of assistant, trainee and qualified clinical psychologists; teaching and training; staff support; consultation; service development, evaluation, audit and research. Her predominant theoretical approach is derived from EMDR, CBT and ACT approaches.
She has been involved in 19 publications, presentations and posters.
