2025 OCCA Legislative Summit

The 2025 OCCA Legislative Summit is set for March 5, 2025, in Salem. This important event is a great opportunity for college presidents,  board members, campus advocacy coordinators, students and other advocates to learn more about impacts to community colleges during the Legislative Session. You’ll hear from legislators, veteran community college advocates, and students, and learn advocacy strategies and important messaging as we work to support community colleges during the 2025 Legislative Session. The Summit will take place March 5 at the Salem Convention Center, while March 6 will be reserved for colleges to meet with legislators at the Capitol.

March 5 - Summit & Reception, Salem Convention Center

  - Registration: 10:30-11:00 a.m.  

  - Summit Program: 11:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

  - Reception: 5:00-7:00 p.m.

RECEPTION, March 5 - 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Join us following the March 5 Summit session for a special reception with legislators from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Hearty appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages are included as is complimentary wine. A cash bar will be available for other beverages as well. A special thank you to Chemeketa Cellars from Chemeketa Community College and the Southern Oregon Wine Institute at Umpqua Community College for providing the wine for the reception, and to Oregon Coast Culinary Institute from Southwestern Oregon Community College for providing the vast array of appetizers!

The reception will also include demonstrations from Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs from Oregon's community colleges. This is a great opportunity to see the variety of workforce-related programs our colleges offer in our communities.

March 6 - Lobby Day, Oregon Capitol

Secure your room at a special rate at The Grand Hotel in Salem, connected to the Salem Convention Center. The Grand Hotel is a short walk to the Oregon Capitol for your lobby day visits on March 6.

LOBBY DAY HOSPITALITY AREA

Due to construction at the Capitol, there will be no areas inside the Capital for you to wait between meetings with legislators. Please feel free to come to the OCCA office, located at 260 13th St. NE, just a few blocks' walk from the Capital. OCCA will have light snacks and refreshments available. Please note that parking at the OCCA office is limited, so walking from the Capital may be your best option.
