Neuroinclusive Leaders: Supporting Neurodivergent Colleagues
Thursday 5 November 1.00pm - 2.00pm
Location: UHI Orkney
Delivered by Nelly Whaley, Training Manager from Mindroom.
In response to feedback form local employees who are keen to learn more about neurodivergence in the work place. The Local Employability Partnership (LEP) are delighted to bring this practical and informative training to Orkney.
Neurodivergence refers to the natural variation in how people think, learn, process information and experience the world. It can include people with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, Tourette syndrome and other cognitive differences. By understanding and embracing neurodiversity, workplaces can unlock valuable skills, perspectives and talents while creating more inclusive and supportive environments for all employees.
Join us for an introductory neurodiversity awareness session designed to increase understanding, build confidence and support more inclusive workplace practices. This session will explore common neurotypes, common experiences, and practical ways to build neuroinclusive environments. Participants will gain a greater understanding of how to support neurodivergent colleagues, patients, service users and clients, helping to create workplaces and services where everyone can thrive.
Topics will include:
- Understanding neurodiversity and its relevance in workplace and service settings
- Common neurotypes
- Neurodiversity terminology and language
- Practical strategies to foster neuroinclusive workplaces and improve experiences for clients, patients and the wider community
- Opportunity for questions and discussion
This session is open to all employees and no prior knowledge is required.
Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. If all available spaces are filled, you can add your name to the waiting list, you will be contacted should a place become available.
